Lets catch up with a cuppa...

I havent posted in a while so as I would do with a friend I haven't seen in a while lets have a cuppa and a catch up!
This week has been a semi busy one that has seen some unexpected glorious weather reach Scottish shores - and yes I do mean glorious in the sense that you can sunbathe in your back garden without a cardigan! :)
This hasn't aided in the training programme for my half marathon that I'm supposed to be doing in September but I wont worry my pretty little running shoes about it just yet!!
I've been thinking I'd like to move out once more for various reasons. I had a flat in the Westend of Glasgow with two friends which I gave up and I'm sure many will agree that once you've had a taste of independence its hard to come back and live at home again.
I have my eye on a wee flat to buy this time which means serious saving and a major spending ban to allow for a deposit..yikes!!
I'm changing job roles at work that offers a new challenge for me along with a much earlier morning start and added responsibility. Keep you posted on that one!
Lastly I have been doodling many a new design for my handmade jewellery. I have had alot of feedback when I wear certain pieces such as this cameo pendant..
This is one of my items based on my likes/fashion tastes so I'm thinking I might do more of this, will do a blog post on the new pieces.
Anyway my cuppa is finished so think I'll sign off..I love a good catch up!

Hope everyone elses weeks have been fab? x

The above necklace is listed here HERE.

EMBRACE THE RED..

I've been thinking about changing my barnet the last few days.
I am a natural redhead and have not embraced my natural copper/strawberry blonde hair for many years now experimenting with colours and pretty much attempting to cover up the fact that I am a ginger!
This is terrible I will admit, mum always said 'people would love to have that colour!' but constant teasing has for years convinced me otherwise!
I could sympathise with Nicola Roberts from Girls Aloud when she spoke about the way she felt, that she she didnt fit in with the other band members and didnt feel attractive.
I am aware that hair colour may seem a very trivial thing to be unhappy with or explore at such lengths but I felt such an outcast at school often the only one in a class and still today the butt of many a joke.
However if you flick through any magazine these days.....am I right in thinking that suddenly its much more trendy? I'm not sure whether to thank style icon Rhianna or people like the model Lily Cole or Nicola Roberts?
I even have friends who ask me advice on how to maintain dyed red locks!?

from the top (l to r) RHIANNA - THIS VIVID SHADE HAS CREATED A MAJOR TREND IN HAIR COLOUR IT IS FAB YOU MUST ADMIT       HER HAIRDRESSING BILL IS NO DOUBT MORE THAN MY YEARLY WAGE!
FLORENCE WELCH - AMAZING ARTIST AND SUH COOL QUIRKY FASHION!
UNA FROM THE SATURDAYS - IRISH REDHEAD AND SO ENVIOUSLY GORGEOUS!
GLEE GUIDANCE COUNCILLOR (JAYMA MAYS) - JUST LOVE HER SO QUIRKY :)
AMY CHILDS (TOWIE) - CHANGED MANY AN OPINION THAT YOU MUST BE BLONDE! I FIND HER HILARIOUS!

So maybe as I get older I am becoming more comfortable in myself or maybe my hair is beginning to resemble a bail of hay from years of dying :) haha but suddenly I think its time to return and be natural!

Is anyone a fellow closet redhead? Do you ever feel the want to embrace it?

A TIME OUT FOR MY TRESSES...

My poor mop has been feeling a tad tired of late having been bleached, blow dried and straightened to within an inch of its life! Although I have been conditioning with treatments, using serums and so on sometimes your hair just needs a rest!
So the past few weeks I have been allowing my hair to dry naturally, keeping brushing to a minimum and waiting longer between washes as I read that washing your hair too often can remove moisture and all the natural oils.

However my hair is a bit well... crazy when left to do its own thing. A bizarre display of flicks, kinks and random waves/curls that quite frankly would warrant use of the phrase 'constant bad hair day'.
So I have been wearing my hair up alot, this allows me to feel the sunshine (when it appears) on my face and I am not bothered by my unruly barnett as I go about my day.
This therefore has sparked a series of interesting 'up dos' from plaits to twists, quiffs, top knots etc.
The hair style above is just a simple loop pony but with some plaits and sections of my hair clipped back to add texture.
I received compliments on this one from a lady behind me in the Starbucks queue :)
So I challenge you all to give your tresses a well deserved rest and get creative at the same time! Your hair will thankyou for it! xx

First OOTD...

Having a go at an outfit of the day post for the first time.
Last weekend the weather was gorgeous so I wore this simple maxi dress with a belt.
My red maxi is from Primark and was a bargain - cost me less than £10. My belt from Topshop a great never fail waist clincher, my cropped denim jacket from Miss Selfridge and my bag (favourite summer wardrobe purchase) is by Fiorelli.
I just love maxi dresses they are so comfortable and don't take alot of styling you can literally throw them on and go but you still feel in keeping with summer trends.
Does anyone else share my love for the Maxi Dress?
